Hi! I'm Jen. I play the violin, viola, mandolin, piano, organ, and my voice. I also ride my two horses, Rocky and Ben. I absolutely love Bach as a composer because he dedicated his work to God and he was a total genius.

Hello, my name is Crooky. I have two cats, a black one named Sparky, and a gray one named Smokey. I have one younger sister. I used to play the violin but quit because I didn't like the the teacher and I wasn't that good anyway. Embarassed

Hello, my name is Martinus. I'm Indonesian and my English is terrible, so please forgive me if I make mistakes. I play electronic organ long time ago. In fact, I never play any Bach (unless the arranged Minuet in G major from The Anna Magdalena Notebook, entitled "Bach's Rock"!!!). However I love Bach very much, since I can generally enjoy all his music (Beethoven, for example, I only like some of his Piano Sonatas).

Hi, I play viola. I love listening to baroque music, especially to Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and Telemann. I have two very aggressive budgerigars, and I also like reading Tintin books! Wink

Welcome Aussie violist! BTW... Bach's favorite instrument to play in an orchestra was the viola.

Hi@all,
sorry, but I discovered this topic first now. ^^ So, I'll introduce myself as well...
I'm 17 years old and from Hungary, but I'm also German Cool Difficult to explain. Wink
I'm very interested on classical music, especially on the baroque music, more exactly on Bachs works. I also love the organmusic of the northgerman composers, like Reinken, Lübeck, Buxtehude or Bach self. I've played the piano for 9 years and the organ since 2003. It's a superb instrument! Cool
I'm also interested on many different sciences, such as on the medicine (I wanna become a doctor, brainsurgeon or brainresearcher, but the neonatology is also very interesting), on the astronomy or on the music-science. Smile Composing is also very fascinating, I sometimes write fugues or fantasies, but I haven't got any education there. =/
Oh yes, and I'm very sorry about my teribble English, but German is a much more beautiful language Razz English is also very interesting. I've learnt English since I play organ (2003). ^^ So, thats all for today, see you in the forum (its a little bit empty.... Crying or Very sad )
F.

Hi!

Just joined the site. I'm a music student from Australia! Absloutely Addicted to Bach. Play piano but mostly I sing - huge choir nerd! Have studied Early Music Performance Practice and sing Tenor in some early music groups - particularly Bach, because it suits my voice, unlike that crappy overdramatic romantic oprera stuff Shocked . Also teach Counterpoint at university, pretty much with all Bach examples. Great stuff.

Favourite pieces - So many - but my pet loves are the Motets, particularly, Jesu Meine Freude, Der Geist Hilft and Singet Dem Herrn. B Minor Mass is another one of my favourites, along with the passions of course and I could name plenty of Cantatas too which I like the best.

Would love to talk about Bach any time! Add me to your MSN. Most likely I'll be listening to some Bach at the same time Very Happy Embarassed Wink

Love,
twistie01
