Mwa ha ha ha! Razz Wink My uber fave piece to play is Tocatta in Dm. Pullin out all the stops baby! Woo Hoo! #Milti

I REALLY would like to talk about organs!!!!!!!!
What a pitty I think..the organ in leipzig where Bach has played , is restaurated( is that English? I dont know..! Embarassed ) and its not the old one anymore..!
It s been so great to play there..
Has anyone ever been to Leipzig? The organ in st nicolain is great , too. But I never may play there..Sad

restaurated-- "restored" (close, but no cigar)

If it was the original one, it probably wouldn't be in working condition and it would just sit around collecting dust. I wish I could go see it, though. (even better, I wish I could play it) Cool

hey, dude. are you stuck on Dm 565? maan, advance:))))... Embarassed

i would recommend ye to take a look on the Bruhns praeludium in C moll. theeeeen take a look at Boellmann's Toccata from Suita Gothique. Theeen you'll feel like the queen of music, swear to ye:). just try it:). and theeeeen play Bach's 548 E moll. and theeeeeeeen repeat it:). if you can. you'll be in trance:).

if there could be a dj on an organ, i would mix the 3 mentioned.Smile.

Same here! I am a little rusty though. I also like to write neo Barock pieces for organ and harpsichord. Of course, I have written a Toccata and Fugue in d minor. Wink
One of the strangest things is that some people think that Bach is 'unemotional' and cold. I think this must be a rumour put around by the Victorians. Wink I can enjoy the emotion in - say - Beethoven's 7th or I can enjoy pop music but there is nothing to beat the feeling one gets from Bach. One of my favourite moments is in the G Minor Fantasy where the manual parts slide from key to key over a chromatic bass or similar moments in the Choral Preludes where suddenly the melody is lifted by a modulation or the wonderful strettos of Bach's later fugues. It is something that appeals on so many levels and is not just moving but profoundly moving.

I'm new here by the way. Very Happy
