|

Hi! I think I have a disease which causes me to listen to Bach day in and day out! - as long as they are good recordings that is!
Just joined the site. I'm a music student from Australia! Absloutely Addicted to Bach. Play piano but mostly I sing - huge choir nerd! Have studied Early Music Performance Practice and sing Tenor in some early music groups - particularly Bach, because it suits my voice, unlike that crappy overdramatic romantic oprera stuff . Also teach Counterpoint at university, pretty much with all Bach examples. Great stuff.
Favourite pieces - So many - but my pet loves are the Motets, particularly, Jesu Meine Freude, Der Geist Hilft and Singet Dem Herrn. B Minor Mass is another one of my favourites, along with the passions of course and I could name plenty of Cantatas too which I like the best.
Would love to talk about Bach any time! Add me to your MSN. Most likely I'll be listening to some Bach at the same time
Love,

I just heard the complete B Minor Mass last week performed by the Orchestra Seattle and Seattle Chamber Singers conducted by George Shangrow. It was absolutely fantastic!
To people that don't appreciate Bach, I truly feel they have missed out on one of life's most precious gifts. _________________ Cybermonsters (Most Beloved Admin)

Even Mulder from X-Files says "I live for Bach!"
But since listening to the more "authentic" recordings, I can't live with Bach being played on modern instruments, especially the Clavier book on a grand piano. |
