There is unfortuantely not much activity here compared with the liveliness at the Beethoven, Wagner and general classical music forums I visit. Why is this? What is there about Bach that, despite his greatness, does not generate more postings than this?
Perhaps because he was not used by the Nazis as Wagner was, or not deaf and tragic the way Beethoven was. There is not much controversy or abnormal human interest surrounding him. Just masterpiece after masterpiece, turned out in relative obscurity by a genius who was also a solid burgher and seemingly didn't get into much emotional trouble.
Perhaps at least recorded versions of works could inspire some postings. Does anyone have favorite versions of the Mass in B Minor, or other well-known masterworks by Bach, they'd like to comment on and share knowledge of? |

Chaszz, what other classical forums do you visit? I've created one (it's in my sig) but it's dead because it is brand new. I really do love Bach, and baroque music generally so (and lots of classical music) so I hope to eventually fit into a busy classical music forum. If you don't want to answer this directly, please feel free to PM me.
In the meantime, I think I'm going to start a poll for fun! _________________ I have always found that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.
