| I want to try again to explain how I feel about "the greatest composer". Truly, I feel there is any "greatest" but there are a lot of "greats". The best composers are so original and different from each other that it is just about impossible to pick out one,, two or even 10. I own about 2300 recordings and go to live concerts here in the Big Apple and after all this time, have come to feel the above opinion. Anybody here or disagree with me. Of course, J.S. Bach belongs way up there, expecially since I am writing on the Bach site. Thanks for the opportunity for me to state my opinion. |

That's quite true except that I have yet to hear greater organ works other composers, and believe me I have heard many of Buxtehude, Pachelbel, Schutz, Brahms, etc.
If you know one please recommend one composer that deserves his name beside Bach or even Buxtehude |

Besides J.S Bach gave the basic rules of music(harmonic and fuge),he also give us beautiful musics.
The conclusion that J.S Bach is the greatest composers may be excessive, but that is the reflection of our thought at a certain extent. _________________ Though science and arts are the greatest things, the feelings about the world are the base of all. |

| I wouldn't know because I am ignorant. But music reflects attitude, and the best composer would have the best attitude, and you would have to be super-wise to know what that is. "The way that can be known is not the true way etc..." |
